Maura Brickman Yoga

Welcome

Maura Brickman (YM500/RYT300/ERYT200) has a strong passion for movement in the body and it's connection to the breath and nervous system as way to help relieve both physical and mental stress.  Originally from Massachusetts, she spent 16 years living in the mountains of Colorado teaching snowboarding and yoga after finishing college at Colorado State University. During this time, Maura completed a 200hr Kundalini Yoga training in 2005 in New Mexico, which she no longer teaches due to the criminal behavior of its founder.  Soon after her experience in NM, she completed another 200hr certification in 2009 in Hatha Yoga Interdisciplinary and Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Jennifer Yarro at Frog Lotus Yoga in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. While pregnant with her first child, she became certified to teach Prenatal Yoga.  Shortly after that, Maura moved back to the east coast and spent 7 years there raising her children and teaching yoga, while also taking various yoga educational workshops when she had the opportunity.  In April 2019, Maura moved her family of five back to the Rocky Mountains.  She then completed a 20hr Restorative Yoga training with Julia Clarke of Edwards, CO, a 20hr online Yoga Anatomy training with Tiffany Cruikshank, and an online intro to Mindful, Trauma Informed yoga with Ann Bortz.  Maura then went on to complete a 300 hour Yoga Medicine certification under Tiffany Cruickshank.  This training included a 55hr Shoulder Module, a 55hr Hip Module, a 55hr Myofascial Release Module, 55hr YM Spine Module, a 25hr Yoga for Athletes module, 25hr YM Female Health Module, and a final case study presentation to the teaching team.  In her online classes, Maura shares with her students many sequences and tools that she has learned and found helpful over the years as a way to find balance, create strength, and relieve stress.  Her motivation to teach yoga comes from her own experience of the benefits that these techniques have brought to her mental and physical health, and the desire to share it with others. She believes that yoga is a helpful tool for self-care when done in a safe environment.  Maura combines her well rounded knowledge in the various types of yoga with over 20 years of teaching experience to create a personal practice that feels supportive to the demands of her life, and her classes are all based on what she feels has been most helpful to her along the way.

About

Welcome to my online yoga studio platform.   I am excited to share with you the yoga classes and techniques that I've learned and used over the years that have helped me to feel stronger and more balanced physically, mentally, and emotionally throughout all the ups and downs of life so far.  I will be offering weekly vinyasa flow classes focusing on different areas of the body in order to assist students in creating a balance of strength and flexibility. I am also available for private online sessions which can be set up as a small group (2-6 people), or one on one.  One on one private sessions are helpful in figuring out what your individual yoga needs might be, and then learning to implement a daily routine that will hopefully off- set some of the imbalances you may be feeling in your body or in life. I am here for you as a guide and to help you track your progress.  For more information or to schedule a private session please feel free to contact me.  I am committed to keeping up to date with recent yoga research and discoveries, and to learning all that I can in order to give my students the best possible experience.  As a yoga teacher, I love practicing yoga and sharing its benefits, and I value the importance of creating a safe sustainable practice so that we can continue for years to come.  I look forward to seeing you in the next  zoom class or in a private session.  Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.  See you on the mat!
