Maura Brickman Yoga

Welcome

Maura Brickman (ERYT-200) is inspired by yoga on all levels and has a strong passion for movement in the body and it's connection to the breath and nervous system as way to help relieve both physical and mental stress.  Originally from Massachusetts, she spent 16 years living in the mountains of Colorado teaching snowboarding and yoga after finishing college at Colorado State University. During this time, Maura completed a 200hr Kundalini Yoga training in 2005 in New Mexico, which she no longer teaches due to the criminal behavior of its founder.  Soon after her experience in NM, she completed another 200hr certification in 2009 in Hatha Yoga Interdisciplinary and Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Jennifer Yarro at Frog Lotus Yoga in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. While pregnant with her first child, she became certified to teach Prenatal Yoga.  Shortly after that, Maura moved back to the east coast and spent 7 years there raising her children and teaching yoga, while also taking various yoga educational workshops along the way.  In April 2019, Maura moved her family of five back to the Rocky Mountains.  She then completed a 20hr Restorative Yoga training with Julia Clarke of Edwards, CO, a 20hr online Yoga Anatomy training with Tiffany Cruikshank, and an online intro to Mindful, Trauma Informed yoga with Ann Bortz.  Maura is now working towards her 500hr Yoga Medicine Certification with Tiffany Cruickshank.  In March 2021, she completed the 55hr Yoga Medicine Shoulder Module,  in March 2022 she completed the 55hr Yoga Medicine Hip Module, in October 2022 she completed the 55hr YM Myofascial Release Module, in November 2023 she completed the 55hr YM Spine Module, and in May 2024 she completed the 25hr YM Yoga for Athletes module. In her online classes, Maura shares with her students the sequences and tools that she's been learning and has found helpful from her Yoga Medicine teachers Tiffany Cruickshank, Rachel Land, and more.  Maura uses what she's learned and experienced throughout her yoga career as a way to find balance, create strength, and relieve stress, and shares this in her classes.  Her passion to teach yoga comes from the benefits that this practice has brought to her mental and physical health over the years, and she believes that yoga can be a helpful tool for self-care when done in a safe environment.  Maura combines her well rounded knowledge in the various types of yoga with 18 years of teaching experience to create a personal practice that feels supportive to the demands of her life, and she teaches classes based on what she feels has been most helpful to her along the way.

About

Welcome to my online yoga studio platform.   I am excited to share with you the yoga classes and techniques that I've learned and used over the years that have helped me to feel stronger and more balanced physically, mentally, and emotionally throughout all the ups and downs of life so far.  I will be offering weekly vinyasa flow classes focusing on different areas of the body in order to assist students in creating a balance of strength and flexibility within themselves as a whole.  I hope to add more classes in restorative, yin, and MFR as we go, and am also available for private sessions for those that are interested in a more focused approach to individual or group needs.  Private sessions can be set up as a small group (2-6 people), or one on one.  One on one private sessions are helpful in figuring out what your individual yoga needs might be, and then learning to implement a daily routine that will hopefully off- set some of the imbalances you may be feeling in your body or in life. I am here for you as a guide and to help you track your progress.  For more information or to schedule a private session please feel free to contact me.  I am committed to keeping up to date with recent yoga research and discoveries, and to learning all that I can in order to give my students the best possible experience.  As a yoga teacher, I love practicing yoga and sharing its benefits, and I value the importance of creating a safe sustainable practice so that we can continue for years to come.  I look forward to seeing you in the next  zoom class or in a private session.  Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.  See you on the mat!
